The Fractal Ion+2 Platinum is, without a doubt, a professional-level power supply that not only packs plenty of excellent features but also offers exceptionally high levels of functionality and performance to suit practically all needs and requirements. – It is sleek, stylish, understated, and goes about its job in an exceptionally efficient and streamlined manner.
The Fractal ION+ Platinum series is a good addition to the market. It comes with a 10-year warranty and has 80 Plus Platinum efficiency. It’s also nice that Japanese, 105C-rated capacitors have been used. Fractal Design also introduced UltraFlex DC cabling here: an extremely high strand count with specially formulated insulation made it possible to reduce conductors to just 0.08 mm in diameter – half the thickness of competing products – without losing efficiency or current capacity.
So far, I have tested two members of Fractal Design’s Ion+ line, and I plan to take a look at another one soon enough. High Power, the original manufacturer of all Ion+ models, did a very good job; these power supplies feature good build quality and thanks to the quality parts, they will easily outlive the ten-year warranty period.
